Precautions to take before testing Google AdSense with your website

By Crack Google

If you are in the process of designing a new layout for an existing website, or perhaps your are building a new website, it is important to follow these basic precautions to avoid putting your Adsense account in jeopardy. This is particularly true if the website you are working on will incoporate Google Ads served up by the Adsense / Google Ads Server. When working on a website, it is very common to refresh the page you are working on to see how it will look each time you make a change.

Because Google does not know you are testing, they may penalize your Adsense account for "click-fraud" because the IP Address requesting ads remains the same. An even great concern is clicking on your own ads, a very big no-no with Google and their Advertisers. These refreshes will increase your ad impressions and lower your Click Through Rate (CTR).

The best way to prevent any serious problems with Google Adsense is to simply remove the Adsense code altogether before you do any testing. However, this solution might not be the best as Google Ads are going to be an important part of your design and layout. Crack Google has outlined some very simple and effective precautions that you may want to take to avoid any problems:

  1. Replace the actual Adsense code with a static graphic (.jpg, .png, gif, etc. image) with the identical dimensions to that of a Google Ad. You may find such graphics on Google's website
  2. You can also add this line to the Google Adsense code: Google_adtest="on"; (including the semicolon)
  3. Change the value of the "Google_ad_client" within the code to something like "pub-testing"
  4. You might also consider removing the Google_ad_channel line from your code as well.

If you have any questions or are uncertain about anything suggested here on CrackGoogle.com, you can also contact the Google Adsense Team directly with your inquiry.

Do not ad your Adsense content until your site is complete and ready to be published. Google Adsense does not allow sites that are under construction or incomplete, to publish Ads.
